Make sure what you choose makes you happy

Whatever age you are, your life is an exciting moment. We often think that being happy is complicated, but if you could do something simple to feel better, would you do it? We all have our pains, things we have done and not done, unfulfilled desires, people …

So what sets people apart who seem to be happier than others? The secret lies in the attention we dedicate to positive things and to those that are not. 

Whatever happens, be emotionally intelligent and keep more positive memories in your memory than negative, even if it takes more effort. If you have various options for moving forward, be sure to choose the one that won’t make you sad in the end. And whatever you do, it makes you happy.

That the goal is always “to be happy”

The gist of the matter, the ultimate goal, is one’s physical and emotional well-being: no one wants to live life without enjoying it. We all want to feel it, savor it and express it to the fullest, until we feel inwardly pervaded by peace.

For this reason, it is always good to identify the little things that make us feel good and get them. Remember that things may not go well, but if you don’t know what you want or what you are looking for, it will be much more difficult for them to go well.

It is the emotional strength that resides in having clear where you want to go, so that, little by little, you understand how to get there. With happiness, you collide on the way, but it also comes from taking care of yourself.

The secret is to find the right path

It is logical that, if we put into practice actions that we like and make us feel good, we will create sources of positive energy. Happiness will be waiting for us there, at the precise moment and in the right path for us. Well, what is the right path? The individual one, based on small habits that make us feel better every day.

There is no common method to achieve happiness: each individual is happy in a special and determined way.  For example, one person can fight sadness by writing and another by having coffee with friends, yet another by doing sports.

The same happens for more important matters that affect our life. Obviously we don’t know what the future holds, but we can guess if a decision will hurt us and if we can avoid it. Use the emotional intelligence we were talking about and indulge in more caresses than wounds.

Happiness has a soul mate

In whatever circumstances we find ourselves in this moment, we are surrounded by people and many of them are soulmates who empathize with our way of being in the world. Furthermore, we are not only the architects of our own happiness, we also influence that of the people around us.

 Actions that reflect feelings of generosity, solidarity, or affection increase levels of inner satisfaction. On the contrary, envy or feelings of guilt can reduce them. Happiness does not depend on others, it is good to be aware that it affects others and that it is intelligent people to use this influence in our favor.

Finally, don’t wait for others to make you happy, but if that happens, enjoy the moment. Don’t wait for happiness to reach you without lifting a finger, but don’t let it escape either: remember what your goal is and act on it. Remember that there is room for both negative and positive things, but you decide when to end the former and how long to make the latter last.
